For those who like to motor, West Shore Marine, situated at the foot of the lake, offers boat rentals and access to the lake. Wellington State Park, four miles down the western shore of the lake, offers free boat launch facilities.
Nearby natural attractions include Audubon’s Paradise Point, Hebron Marsh, and Bear Mountain wildlife sanctuaries; Wellington State Park for boating, hiking, and swimming; Cardigan Mountain State Park; Sculptured Rocks, a beautiful gorge on the Cockermouth River and ideal rock jumping and swimming hole; and Runmey Rocks which is one of the premier sport climbing destinations in the country.
New Hampshire has over 90 golf courses with 21 in the Lakes Region. The courses nearby include Owl’s Nest Golf Club, Ragged Mountain Resort and White Mountain Country Club.
Within a short drive from Meadow Wind, you can enjoy skiing and snowboarding at Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain Resort, Tenney Mountain, and Waterville Valley Resort, to name a few.
